The Health Care Fiasco

Well, I am finally going to weigh in on the Health Care bill.  I am very much in favor of obeying the powers that be, unless they ask me to do something that violates God's standards.  With that being said I am appalled to have any of my taxes going to support any abortions (even in the cases of rape and incest).  Sadly, this is just one of the problems I have with the bill.

This is the first time that the federal government has EVER forced the American people to buy ANYTHING!  Even car insurance only affects those who drive automobiles.  This bill affects everyone.  We must buy health insurance under penalty of law.  Fortunately, over thirteen states so far are suing to show that the commerce clause of the constitution does not permit this type of mandate.

I have also been watching MSNBCs ultra-biased coverage of the threats that are being made against democratic congressional members and the rocks thrown through windows of DNC offices nationwide.  Ok, aren't there cameras outside of the these offices, and can't we tap phones? Why are we are recording calls but not tracing calls?  There is no footage of any of the rocks or bricks?  No arrests have been made and any threats actually claiming that they will kill a congressman have no recordings.  It is just them saying that it happened.  Now does all of this mean that it is being faked to demonize the right wingers of this country?  No, not necessarily, but I do have to ask myself who stands to gain ground in the eyes of Americans when this is a top story on every network.

If these acts are really being perpetrated by so called "conservatives"  then my response is to say, "Why"?  Why terrorize families and democratic congressmen for expressing their beliefs and voting their conscious?  We will not always agree and sometimes there is a price for stupidity.  There is not a reason to insight violence or revolution over a healthcare bill that may see its downfall in the states.  We should be calling our state Attorney Generals and asking them to file suit along with the rising number of states coming to their senses.  Let's take the high road in realizing that the U.S. Constitution is on the side of the States and their people.

I was thinking the same thing about the threats...I believe they are being staged to reverse the bad feelings left over from the bill being passed, to turn the tables per se. Exciting times to be alive right now, God is going to do something big thru all of this.

Good article but you didn't weigh in on any of the good things about the bill, like pre-existing conditions now being covered ect ect.

Nate, are you not currently being taxed in your paycheck for social security, and other mandatory programs you have had to buy into? Whether you support the war in Iraq or not, your dollars are being spent on it, without your say. A tax is a tax is a tax, and this one won't be any different.

This whole thing is just amazing that I can't help but laugh. This goes to show just how far away people truly are from Christ. Does anyone not read the Word anymore. Doesn't Romans 13 clearly tell us, "that EVERYONE must submit to governing authorities and that ALL authority comes from God and those in positions of authority HAVE BEEN PLACED THERE BY GOD." But wait there's more.
Vs.2 So ANYONE who rebels against authority is rebelling against what GOD has instituted, and they will be Punished. (these are not my words Romans 13:1-2)NLT

Christ never called for us to protest but to have a relationship w/ Him. Who cares if everyone now can have health care. The one's who could not afford it, can now have it. AMEN! Who cares if it is going to completely bankrupt this country in about 20-50yrs from now. We are already broke! "The Chinese own more U.S. government debt than any other nation - about $800 billion worth. And the U.S. pays China $50 billion a year just in interest." http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/11/15/eveningnews/main5660868.shtml

If we say that Jesus is your provider, then we have to mean it. We have to stop saying it and actually live it.

Satan is distracting us with all sorts of stupidity. All because we don't study the Word of God. Stop evaluating the world, with a world mindset. I love this. "Therefore, If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;old things have passed away; behold all things have become new" 2 Cor. 5:17 NKJ

"Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think." Romans 12:2a NLT

My Brothers and Sisters its time to wake up! If we want change that we can truly believe in, then look towards heaven and call on the name of Jesus for help.

God Bless and be Breezy

I'm still scratching my head over some of these post. Wake Up people!! Yes TRUST in God but you don't submit to the authorities that just go totally against God's word. People put them in authority, not God, God gives people free will and choices, what you do with that free will and choice is up to you. So with that said, We all make mistakes in life and this was one of them. This Health plan gives the government too much control over your life, not like they don't have enough already. They can call it what they want to call it but there will be officials deciding whether to treat you for severe illnesses or not. Anyway, I got to go to work, so, I can pay for someone to have health insurance.

I agree with the last comment. People vote people in..free will. Would you have followed Hitler just because he was an authority really?

My only thoughts are we needed reform, period and not everyone is going to be happy. Coming strictly from the financial side of this we pay for the uninsured regardless because they make your rates go up every year, your copays and/or office visits. So why not tax it? At least we know going into it instead of hiding it in our premiums, last year our premiums increased 25% for one of the businesses the other increased 35%. With insurance my family pays $400 a month in prescription medication. Prescription drug companies need to get that under control. The tax increase is for people that make over 200K a year, which I do not. Small business suffers, I am a controller of a business that cannot offer insurance to its employees and another has 4 employees and pays premiums upwards to 6000 a month. My brother who died of diabetes had fought for coverage his entire life and when he did receive, it was always subpar. I think everyone should be entitled to healthcare coverage. There are parts of the bill I am totally against however there are parts of it that are needed. To me this bill isn't just about abortion, my opinion only, don't shoot me I think that should be an entirely different forum. I am scared of the government handling healthcare not sure they have the ability to handle it. After all I grew up as a military brat my father retired after 25 years and then worked at NSA for the reminder of his career and we had awful medical care. The health reform has been on the agenda of every political party since I can remember. They used it to get elected and then never changed it. This bill unless amended which I feel it will be, is going to happen in phases being all completed in 2014. If you have adult children in college like I do I am happy that they raised the age. I am happy that they are offering tax credits to small businesses and I am happy that families are going to be entitled to good healthcare. The rest I really cannot say, I will wait to see as this change rolls out. As far as abortion I get what everyone is saying however 90% of insurance companies cover it anyway so you are paying for it.

It kills me when people who claim Christ care more about their money and freedom then loving others as themselves. Over the years Christians have become more and more self-involved and self serving.

Oh my, I see some still may not have read the Word yet. Again, these are not my words but the Word of the Lord. Romans 13:1.

Yes you have a choice. You have it to live for Christ or not to live for Him. To have a relationship w/ Him or not. To Vote or not to vote. To Eat a double cheese burger or not to eat it. It is your free will to do so.

But,
"Therefore, If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;old things have passed away; behold all things have become new" 2 Cor. 5:17 NKJ
But wait, Go to a couple of verse before that. 2 Cor. 5:13-16 Emphasize on verse 16. " So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now!" NLT

Why was this said? Because of the Relationship they had w/ Jesus.

Sometime it seems that we think that Jesus is on our level. Like he does not know what's going to happen before it happens. He Knew He was coming to earth to be born to die and to be resurrected. He knew Adam and Eve would sin. But he gave them Free Will to choose what they wanted to do.

Jeremiah wrote in Jeremiah 1:4-5 "The Lord gave me this message:" "I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations." NLT

Now, if He knew him before he was in the whom. and he knew that Adam and Eve would sin and He hardened Pharaoh's heart then why wouldn't he place people in authority positions too. When it clearly says he does so. It does not mean that good people or bad people dont get put into places of authority. We sin daily but we should be trying to live like Christ all the time. Sin is in the world and there is nothing we can do about it except turn our eye to Jesus and Focus on Him. Allow Him to direct us.

In closing, We cant think like the world while we are in Christ. I know its hard sometimes but that's why we have to "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." KJV

Be blessed all and be Breezy,
H

I don't think it's fair to assume that just because a person doesn't support the health care bill, they must not read the Word. Yes, we are to submit to our governing authorities...however, we are ALSO to weigh what these governing authorities are saying/doing against what the Word says. If the US decided to be like China and say that you could ONLY have 1 child and you had to abort all others...would you actually do it because those in leadership over you said to? I would hope not. Just because the government/leaders over us make certain laws and pass certain bills does NOT mean they are sanctioned by God or are things we should necessarily support. What about all those corrupt kings and cities in the Bible that God allowed to be removed from office/destroyed by people who followed Him? If you really want to get Biblical...what about when the anti-Christ reveals himself. He's going to REQUIRE people to receive a mark on either their hand or forehead. Should people submit to this do it? Certainly not.

Great point Laura, Let us obey God rather than man. If everyone will read the qualifications of leaders set up by God in Romans 13 they will see that these leaders punish the guilty and the just do not need to fear them. This is a Biblical litmus test for leaders who God supports. Under Hitler the just had reason to fear and under many bills like the one paying for abortion the innocent are now being killed by funds from our government.

You stirred up hornets nest by bringing up concept that the killing of babies should not be taxpayer supported. By putting our trust in gov't to take care of us instead of God, we are going to harvest more than just debt and runaway inflation. Interesting times indeed!
